Academic Advising/Personal Support
SSS serves as a student’s guide through college. Each SSS student is assigned to an SSS Academic Advisor depending upon their degree/major. The SSS Advisors specialize in one of the four UW Oshkosh colleges; Business, Education and Human Services, Letters and Sciences, and Nursing. One SSS Advisor works with students who are still exploring their major field of study.
SSS students meet with their SSS Advisor on a regular basis, especially during their first and second-year of college. The SSS Advisor assists with the selection of courses for each semester, teaches how to read your STAR report, connects students to campus resources, discusses career goals, develops a graduation plan, and informs students about campus organizations and opportunities.
In addition, any concerns or questions students have about their education and future can be discussed with their SSS Advisor. No matter what the problem or the question, the SSS Advisor is there to guide their students through the situation.
